What maintenance does a vibrating screed or trowel require?
Good maintenance extends the life of the machine and prevents problems.
Daily maintenance (after use):
- Thorough cleaning: Remove all concrete residue from the machine. Dried concrete on the blades or profile unbalances the components and causes breakdowns.
- Quick inspection: Check screws, possible cracks and wear on the blades or screed profile.
Periodic maintenance (depending on hours of use):
- Engine (petrol): Check and clean the air filter. Check the oil level and change it when necessary according to the manual. Check the spark plug.
- Moving parts: Lubricate the bearings and pivot points if specified by the manufacturer.
- Belts: Check that they are correctly tensioned and not cracked.
- Blades (trowel): Replace them when they wear out. Always use complete sets so as not to unbalance the machine.
