What type of compactor do I need for my project?

To make the right choice, consider two things: the type of material you are going to compact and the size of the work area.

  • Tamping rammer: Use it for clay or silt (cohesive) soils. The force of the blow is perfect for deep compaction in trenches or when preparing the bottom of a foundation.
  • Vibrating plates: This is the most versatile machine. It works wonders with sand, gravel and asphalt. The vibration causes the particles to rearrange themselves and leave no gaps. Very useful for base layers, sub-base layers and for repairing road surfaces.
  • Compactor roller: This is the machine for large areas. Whether you are working on a road, an embankment or a large esplanade, the roller will give you maximum performance.
